Great Toaster Oven

This is a great little oven. It perfectly toast's and the convection is great. I made boneless skinless chicken breast and it didn't dry out-it got a nice browned color on the suface after it cooked the appropriate time frame. It's senseless to heat up the kitchen with the regular oven-so this works wonders. It's got a lot of room inside and the crumb tray is removeable, making it easy to clean. The 2 racks that come with it is really handy when you have 3 people and toast to make for all 3 at the same time. The other toaster oven I had before this one only had one rack and not enough room. It's really easy to use and so far works really great. I was a little hesitant to order it at first because there were no reviews on it, but I took a chance and I'm glad I did.

Love it

This review is being transferred over from the other 31180 Toaster/Pizza Oven, which Amazon says is currently unavailable. They are both the same product. They wouldn't transfer my review or combine the two & name them properly, so I'm just transferring my old review & note the addendum at the bottom. As I always do, I wanted to wait awhile before placing my review online. I want to make sure that I am giving the product a fair shake. I got my HB Convection Oven in July of 2007, so I have definitely given it enough time to prove itself or screw up. I have no clue what the other reviewer could possibly be talking about. This oven is phenomenal! Not only does it accommodate six slices of bread, it will cook a whole 12" pizza! I am not having ANY problems with any door pins. It is quiet as a mouse, whether in regular or convection mode. The fan isn't noisy. The dials are not on an angle. The coating does not come off when I remove the racks for cleaning. I'll bet that post was written by a jealous competitor! I LOVE mine! It was worth every penny. I would buy it again and would not hesitate to give it as a gift. It doesn't even hold a candle to the Black & Decker that I had prior to purchasing this one. The timer has a loud enough ding that I can hear it from the living room. The compartment capacity is large enough that I can throw a whole chicken or roast with veggies in it without having to heat up my whole kitchen. That is a definite plus when you live in the desert! One of the things I like most about it is how it reheats leftover pizza. I like lots of cheese on mine & I like it cut in squares. In the old Black & Decker, half the cheese would melt off the sides of the pieces and fall to the bottom and burn. With the Hamilton Beach, it heats it up at just the right temperature so it gives it a perfect crispness and the cheese doesn't melt off and end up at the bottom of the oven. I tested the temperature of mine, and it's off by 25 degrees, but it's no big deal. I just set it accordingly. It may take a little longer to cook toast than my old oven, but I have never burned it. I think the only thing I would change is to give it the drop-down cleaning feature that my old B & D had. This one has a somewhat flimsy bottom rack to catch drips. Just leave it in place whenever you cook, clean it often & you'll be fine. Five thumbs up! Buy it! Addendum: As the oven neared a year old, I noticed that the temperature seemed to be farther off than before, at times by 75-100 degrees. I contacted Hamilton Beach and they agreed to replace the unit with no qualms. They were very courteous and professional during the discussion & I would STILL recommend this oven to anyone interested.

Nice product

This item is everything that was advertised. I am able to bake bread, roasts, chicken, and many baked goods. Highly recommend for a low cost convection/toaster oven. The only negative i could say would be the convection oven itelf is not as good as the higher priced ovens, but very reasonable for the cost.

A few reservations

I had high hopes for this my first convection oven. It was a replacement for my old and well-used little Black and Decker. I was a little confused by the icons for the toaster settings. Toast was unevenly browned and took longer than I am used to and it noticeably heated up my medium sized cabin kitchen. The only thing I am enthusiastic about is that the shape allows for a full sized round pan. To be fair, I will amend my review later if I judged prematurely.
